Historic Wetumpka Airport (08A), located in Elmore, Alabama  (fifteen minutes North of Montgomery), is just six miles East of I-65 on Alabama Hwy 14. Wetumpka Airport is an ideal location for training both Private and Instrument pilots. The combination of a North-South grass runway and East-West paved runway allows training under almost any wind condition.  Wetumpka Airport is a general aviation, uncontrolled airport without military traffic.  This affords quick access to all runways and traffic patterns without the delays commonly experienced at towered airports.  Since we are located out of the high volume military training areas of West Florida and South Alabama, training is attained in safe un-congested airspace.

We are only five minutes flying time from Montgomery Regional Airport, a towered facility, which accommodates ILS, LOC, VOR, NDB, ASR, and GPS approaches. Due to our assessable location, students can perform three instrument approaches and hold at the VOR within a ninety minute lesson.
